METAIRIE, La. — The New Orleans Zephyrs are pleased to announce that LSU wide receiver Josh Reed will compete in the Capital One College Football All-Star Challenge which will take place on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Zephyr Field starting at 1 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the Stadium during normal business hours. Fans may also purchase over the phone by calling the Zephyrs Ticket Office at 734-5155 or by calling Ticketmaster at 522-5555.
This year?s event, the fourth-annual competition produced by Intersport, will match the nation?s best collegians in the premier skill positions: quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. The Capital One College Football All-Star Challenge tests the accuracy, speed, agility, mobility, and strength of the participants in four separate competitions.
Reed a native of Rayne, La., set 17 LSU, SEC and Sugar Bowl records in his three year career playing for the Tigers. Reed declared himself for the NFL draft on Jan. 10.
Reed joins previously announced players: Florida State?s Javon Walker from Lafayette (St. Thomas More High School), Patrick Ramsey(Tulane), George Godsey(Georgia Tech), Kurt Kittner (Illinois), Travis Stephens (Tennessee), Antwaan Randle El (Indiana), Woody Dantzler (Clemson), DeShaun Foster (UCLA), and Andre Davis (Virginia Tech).
An autograph session with the participants will take place at the conclusion of the competition.
The All-Star Challenge will air on national television on FOX, Saturday, Feb. 2 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. with Kenny Albert, Bill Maas and Daryl Johnston providing the commentary.
