BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are both ranked in the College Swim Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll for the fifth week in a row, according to the new poll released on Thursday.
The LSU men are ranked 23rd, while the Lady Tigers are 24th. The rankings are the same as they were in the last poll for both squads. Stanford University remained in the top spot for both men and women. The LSU men and women are coming off losses to two nationally-ranked teams last week in Baton Rouge. The men lost to 14th-ranked Florida last Thursday at the LSU Natatorium, and both squads fell to Texas A&M on Friday. The A&M men are currently ranked 19th.
“We are pleased to be ranked in the top 25 poll for another week, it is really great recognition for us,” said LSU head coach Jeff Cavana. “It is a tribute to all of our athletes and how hard they have worked this season.”
LSU will host one more meet this season at home, on Saturday Feb. 2 when they face Florida State and Louisiana-Monroe, and the Lady Tigers will face those two teams as well as the women from Rice University.
