BATON ROUGE — Two LSU games starting with this Sunday’s LSU-Arkansas game have had their starting time affected because of the delayed NFL Playoffs to allow for the game to be televised regionally by Jefferson Pilot Sports.

This Sunday’s LSU-Arkansas game will begin at the Maravich Assembly Center at 12:30 p.m. and will be televised locally by JP affiliate WAFB-TV (Channel 9) prior to the CBS AFC wild card playoff game at 3 p.m.

Next Saturday, Jan. 19, the LSU-Auburn game has been moved from 3 p.m. to 1 p.m. to again allow Jefferson Pilot to televise the game before the league playoffs begin that afternoon. It should be noted that schedule cards and tickets list the game at 3 p.m., but fans should make note of the game change which was made in early October following the change in the NFL Playoff schedule.

Sunday’s game with Arkansas, the first for LSU in SEC play, will feature at halftime, nationally known entertainer Tom Silver who is known as “The NBA Hypnotist.” He has entertained at many sporting events around the country, bringing fans from the stands into his hypnotic trance.

Tom Silver is a Clinical Hypnotherapist with a private practice in Southern California. He has toured the world conducting seminars, lectures and stage shows, including his own one-hour special, “Hypnotized” on CBS. Silver has performed for the fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA and for college halftime audiences at such places at the University of Connecticut and Bradley University.

In other LSU basketball notes, freshman football tight end/defensive end Marcus Spears practiced with the Tigers on Tuesday, their first full team practice since the 76-74 loss to Alabama on Saturday. The team took Wednesday off but will resume preparations for the Sunday 12:30 p.m. game on Thursday with a weight-lifting session at 10 a.m. before practice at 11 a.m.

Tickets for the LSU-Arkansas game are on sale at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and then beginning two hours prior to tipoff at the Maravich Assembly Center. Tickets are $10 for the game.
