BATON ROUGE — The LSU athletic publications office was honored by womenscollegehoops.com when the cover the of the 2001-02 women’s basketball media guide was named one of the nation’s 12 best.
This season’s cover features the five returning players from the 2000-01 NCAA Sweet 16 team, including Doneeka Hodges, Roneeka Hodges, Kisha James, Ke-Ke Tardy and DeTrina White. The five are pictured in front of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on a set of train tracks with the slogan “All Aboard.”
The cover was designed and edited by Marie Brewer, Publications Coordinator Jason Feirman, Associate Sports Information Director Melissa Reynaud and David Hurd. The photos were taken by Staff Photographer Steve Franz.
Last season, the women’s basketball media guide was ranked second in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America. This season’s CoSIDA rankings of women’s basketball media guides will be released in June.
Over the past six years, the women’s basketball media guide has expanded from 64 pages to its present total of 160. During that time, head coach Sue Gunter has guided the Lady Tigers to the NCAA Tournament four times, including an Elite 8 appearance and two Sweet 16 berths.
