ATLANTA — After winning six of its final seven games, the LSU football team takes on No. 2 Tennessee in the 2001 Southeastern Conference Championship at 7 p.m. CST on Saturday in the Georgia Dome.
LSU (8-3, 5-3 SEC) looks to advance to the Bowl Championship Series while spoiling Tennessee’s hopes of a national championship match-up with Miami in the Rose Bowl.
Tennessee (10-1, 7-1) defeated LSU earlier in the 2001 season, 26-18, in Knoxville, Tenn. The Vols lead the all-time series 19-4-3.
