BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Pairings for the 2001 Southeastern Conference Soccer Tournament which begins on Thursday, Nov. 8, in Baton Rouge were announced on Monday morning by the league office.
For tickets to the three-day event, please call the LSU Ticket Office at 1-800-960-8587. Tickets cost $5 per day for adults and $3 per day for children 3-12.
Top-seeded Florida (14-3-1, 8-1 SEC) plays host to No. 8 seed Vanderbilt (7-9, 4-5 SEC) in the tournament’s opening game at noon CST at the LSU Soccer Complex. In the second game at 2:30, fourth-seeded Tennessee (11-5, 7-2 SEC) takes on No. 5 seed Kentucky (11-6-1, 5-4 SEC).
The two evenings games on the first day of play feature Western Division Champion and No. 2 seed Mississippi State (13-7, 5-4 SEC) against No. 7 seed Ole Miss (9-9-1, 4-5 SEC) at 5 p.m., and No. 3 Georgia (12-4-1, 7-2 SEC) against No. 6 seed Auburn (9-6-1, 5-4 SEC) at 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, two matches will include the winners of the first round games with the Florida-Vanderbilt winner taking on the Tennessee-Kentucky winner at 5 p.m., and the Mississippi State-Ole Miss winner against the Georgia-Auburn winner at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s will be a practice day for the two teams that advance to Sunday’s final match, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. and televised by SEC-TV. Due to the Homecoming football game between LSU and Middle Tennessee on Saturday, parking will not be available for fans during Saturday’s practice session.
