Faulk, Reed Named Academic All-District

BATON ROUGE — LSU linebacker Trev Faulk and offensive tackle Rodney Reed have both been named to the Verizon District VI All-Academic Team, it was announced on Thursday.

Faulk, a Lafayette native, is on the academic all-district team for the second straight year, while Reed, from West Monroe, is being honored for the first time.

Faulk, a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, leads LSU with 96 tackles, including 61 solo. He has two tackles for losses, nine quarterback hurries and he’s forced one fumble. Faulk has a 3.2 grade point average in marketing.

Reed has started all nine games at left tackle for the Tigers, and dating back to last season, he’s started 16 in a row for LSU. In nine games this year, Reed has graded out at 90 percent or better seven times. Reed has a 3.9 grade point average in accounting.
