BATON ROUGE — LSU had another good day of practice on Wednesday as the Tigers continue their preparations for Saturday’s Southeastern Conference contest against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

The Tigers will practice again on Thursday followed by a walk-thru in Tiger Stadium on Friday before departing for Tuscaloosa.

LSU enters Saturday’s contest with a 4-3 overall mark and a 2-3 SEC record.

Alabama, which had an open date last week, is 3-4 overall and 2-3 in league play.

“I think the players have responded very well in practice this week,” LSU coach Nick Saban said after practice on Wednesday. “I’m pleased with the effort and the work we have done. It is always a challenge to see if you can bounce back after the disappointment we had.

“This is going to be a challenging game. They (Alabama) have good players on both sides of the ball. I think they are a dangerous team because they have good football players, not because they have lost some close games or that they have had a week off.”

Saban said that tailbacks LaBrandon Toefield, Domanick Davis, and Devery Henderson all returned to practice on Wednesday. All three players sat out Tuesday’s practice with ankle injuries. All three players were injured in last Saturday’s loss to Ole Miss.

Kickoff for Saturday’s contest is set for 2:34 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The game will be televised to a national audience by CBS.
