BATON ROUGE — LSU continued its preparations for Saturday’s contest against Ole Miss with a two hour practice here Wednesday at the LSU practice facility.
LSU will practice again on Thursday followed by a walk-thru in Tiger Stadium on Friday.
The Tigers, who are riding a two-game Southeastern Conference winning streak, are 4-2 overall and 2-2 in league play. Ole Miss, winners of four straight, are 5-1 overall and 2-1 in SEC action. Last year, LSU posted a 20-9 win over Ole Miss in Oxford.
“I really feel that we practiced very well today,” LSU coach Nick Saban said after Wednesday’s practice. ” This is probably as beat up as we have been after a football game, maybe all season long. We played hard, especially in the first half and the beginning of the second half, against Mississippi State.
“We don’t have a lot of guys seriously injured but we have a lot of guys nicked up so today was the first day I felt like we got back in to the swing of things. We made some progress in terms of things we have to do.”
Saban said that offensive guard Stephen Peterman (ankle) is still questionable for Saturday’s contest. Peterman saw limited practice time on Wednesday.
The Tigers will face the Rebels at 8 p.m. on Saturday in Tiger Stadium in a game televised nationally by ESPN2.
