About the Game:
Guy Morriss:
“Initial thoughts – very athletic. I watched them play Florida and Tennessee and they have athletes everywhere. They’re one of the handful of teams that can match up with those teams from an athletic standpoint. I don’t think their record is indicative to how good of a football them they are. They’re a good football team and they will take advantage of their big, powerful offensive line as we’re lining up with undersized linebackers.”
Nick Saban:
“We need to give our football team the best opportunity to play the best football that they can play. This ought to be a challenge for us going on the road to play. I really don’t care who we’re playing.
“They have good players and a good, young, athletic quarterback who can make plays. I think that if we don’t get our mind right about how we do things and how we do it for 60 minutes, than we’ll have a problem. Whether it’s how we played in the third quarter against Tennessee or if it’s like we played the first quarter against Florida.
“We need to not have those kinds of spells. We always talk about 60 minutes and that means that we need to play hard for 60 minutes and get things done the right way. That’s what we’re going to try to do.

Lexington, Ky.
Located at the heart of Kentucky?s famous scenic Bluegrass region, Lexington combines the excitement of a metropolitan area with the hospitality of a Southern hometown atmosphere.
With a population of 250,000, Lexington?s size makes for the perfect college environment for the University. The city provides a wide range of activities for UK students and their visiting friends and families such as championship caliber golf courses, world-famous horse farms, Keeneland Race course and Red Mile Track and beautiful countrysides to explore.
The Kentucky Derby ? called the “most exciting two minutes in sports” ? is run each year at Louisville?s Churchill Downs. Louisville is about a one-hour drive from Lexington.
“Kentucky Blue” Spirit
Perhaps UK?s most recognizable sports fan is actress Ashley Judd. Judd became attached to the Wildcats while attending UK and has become one of the nation?s brightest movie stars.
On January 13, 2001 in Orlando, Florida, the University of Kentucky cheerleading squad won the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s (UCA’s) National College Cheerleading Championship for NCAA Division 1-A schools.
The UK squad has won UCA’s National College Cheerleading Championship an unprecedented eleven (11) times, in 1985, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001; more than any other Division 1-A school.
The squad has been featured on the “CBS Evening News,” Connie Chung’s “Eye to Eye,” and the “CBS Morning Show”, in “Southern Living” and “Gentlemen’s Quarterly,” “ESPN the Magazine,” and “Seventeen” magazines.
