BATON ROUGE — The LSU coaching staff named five players — Rohan Davey on offense, Trev Faulk and Bradie James on defense, and Donnie Jones and Walter Moreham on special teams — as the Tigers’ players of the week following the 26-18 setback to Tennessee on Saturday.
Davey, who ran his streak of passes without an interception to 121, completed 21 of 43 passes for a career-best 356 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The 356 yards passing for Davey ties for the fifth-highest total in school history and it’s the most by a Tiger quarterback since 1995 when Jamie Howard had 356 yards passing against Rice.
Defensively, Faulk tied a career-high with 18 total tackles, including 11 solo stops. Faulk also had one tackle for a three-yard loss. James recorded 16 total tackles, 12 of which were solos, as well as one tackle for a two-yard loss and two quarterback pressures.
On special teams, Jones averaged 46.8 yards on six punts, including a long of 53 yards. Moreham, who plays on LSU’s punt and kickoff coverage teams, recorded one tackle, which came inside the opponents 20-yard line.
LSU returns to action on Saturday when they play host to second-ranked Florida at 2:30 p.m. in a game televised nationally by CBS.
