BATON ROUGE — The LSU-Auburn football game which was postponed due to the tragedies in New York City and Washington, D.C., this past week has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, in Tiger Stadium. Additionally, ESPN has picked up the LSU-Tennessee game on Sept. 29 at 6:45 p.m.
The Auburn game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Tiger Stadium, however that time is subject to change because of television.
Due to the change in date for several Southeastern Conference games, the SEC Championship game has been moved from Dec. 1 to Dec. 8 in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. Kickoff time for the championship game will be announced at a later date.
The LSU football team has an open date on Sept. 22 and returns to action against Tennessee on Sept. 29 in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Dec. 1 date is the latest the LSU football team has played a regular-season game since Bill Arnsparger’s 1985 squad took on East Carolina on Dec. 7. LSU has played 33 regular-season games in the month of December, including three in 1934.
LSU Athletics Director Skip Bertman said that all other LSU athletic events will resume beginning today.
