BATON ROUGE — The 13th-ranked LSU football team takes on Utah State for the second time in school history when the teams meet on the gridiron at 7 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. There is no television for the contest, but you can listen to the game live beginning with the pregame show at 5:30 p.m. right here on LSUsports.net.
The Tigers (1-0) are coming off a season-opening victory over in-state rival Tulane, 48-17, while Utah State (0-1) lost its”cival war” with Utah, 23-19.
LSU will wear purple for the first time this season. The Tigers normally request to wear white at home, however, LSU head coach Nick Saban elected to give his team a chance to play in purple for two of the three non-conference games this season. Saban did the same in 2000, wearing purple for Houston and UAB. LSU also wore purple against Florida and in the 2000 Peach Bowl against Georgia Tech.
Conditions at Tiger Stadium at 5:30 p.m. were overcast and 77 degrees.
