BATON ROUGE — Soggy practice fields and another afternoon thunderstorm forced LSU indoors on Wednesday as the Tigers continued their preparations for Utah State with a two-hour practice at the LSU Indoor Facility.

LSU, ranked No. 13 in the nation, enters the contest with a 1-0 mark after opening its season with a 48-17 win over Tulane last Saturday. Utah State is 0-1 after a 23-19 setback to Utah in its season-opener.

Tickets for Saturday’s 7 p.m. contest are still available. Any LSU System student, faculty or staff member can purchase tickets to the contest for $10 with a valid LSU ID card. Tickets must be purchased in person at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office.

“We couldn’t go outside today because of the rain,” LSU coach Nick Saban said. “Last year, we didn’t practice in the indoor facility until the bowl game and we just went inside then because we were going be playing indoors on turf. This year we’ve been indoors at least a dozen times.

“We had a good practice though, and it’s great that we have such a good facility to go in to and that we can have a quality practice even when the fields are as bad as they are.”

Saban listed running back/defensive back Domanick Davis (knee), offensive lineman Terry Phillips (ankle) and fullback Solomon Lee (knee) as questionable for Saturday’s contest.

“The preparation for this game has been pretty good,” Saban said. “The players have worked hard and they are focused on the game. I think it’s more important that we work right now to get better as a team and do what we need to do to be a force in college football.

“We have a lot of respect for Utah State. Offensively, they are a good passing team. They have a good quarterback and a great runner.”

The Tigers will practice again on Thursday followed by a walk-thru in Tiger Stadium on Friday afternoon.
