BATON ROUGE — LSU students have braved the wind, rain and sun over the past week as they wait in line to pick up or purchase student season tickets on Tuesday.
According to ticket office officials, the line stands eight hours deep, with a two-hour wait once students reach the doors of the LSU Athletic Administration Building. Many student camped outside the building on Monday night to be the first in line to claim their seats in Death Valley.
On Wednesday, only LSU students who reserved tickets via REGGIE/PAWS will be able to pick up and pay for tickets. Tickets that remain unclaimed will go on sale Thursday.
Student season tickets — which cost $42 — were available for pickup on Tuesday, Aug. 21, to students who selected the season tickets option in the registration process (REGGIE/PAWS).
More than 8,500 students reserved tickets in the registration process, while approximately 4,500 are reserved for campus organizations such as Greek fraternities and sororities, the Golden Band from Tigerland, etc.
Therefore, of the 15,850 tickets that are reserved for LSU students, nearly 2,850 are available to the general LSU student population who did not reserve tickets in the registration process.
Approximately 2,500 student season tickets that were reserved in the registration process have also yet to be claimed.
On Monday, Aug. 27, the ticket office issued more than 1,700 student season tickets from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The office will be open throughout the week for students to pick up and/or purchase season tickets.
