BATON ROUGE — LSU’s season-opening football game against Tulane on Sept. 1 in Tiger Stadium will be televised on a pay-per-view basis on TigerVision.
According to LSU Ticket Manager Brian Broussard, only 500 tickets remain for the Tulane contest.
Baton Rouge area subscribers of Cox Cable and Louisiana cable subscribers on systems outside the Baton Rouge area, can order the TigerVision game whether they are on the digital or the analog system at a cost of $34.50 per subscription. In addition, Louisiana residents who have C-band satellite dish systems or those who subscribe to the Dish Network may order TigerVision by calling (800) 887-8277.
The Southeastern Conference’s television agreements with the major networks preclude a school making pay-per-view games available to out of state customers.
Kevin Wagner, LSU’s Coordinator of Electronic Media/Television said the Tulane game will likely be the only home game LSU will offer on TigerVision this season. TigerVision will carry any LSU road games that are not picked up by the SEC television package (CBS, ESPN or Jefferson-Pilot).
The Tulane game will mark the first time since 1998 that LSU has offered a game on TigerVision and it will be the first time since 1992 than an LSU home game has been offered.
