BATON ROUGE — The LSU varsity football players reported to campus on Thursday as the group of returnees joined the Tiger freshmen who reported earlier this week.
The varsity spent Thursday going through physicals, getting equipment and undergoing a portion of the physical training test.
“It’s great to get started,” LSU coach Nick Saban said. “We are very pleased with the attitude and the enthusiasm that our team demonstrated throughout the preparation process for this season.
“Our conditioning level seems to be good and will be very important as to how we prepare over the next three weeks for the season.”
The Tigers will have meetings and the second portion of the physical training test on Friday before their first practice as an entire unit on Saturday.
LSU open its season on Sept. 1 when they play host to Tulane at 7 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
