Young Suspended From Men’s Basketball Team

BATON ROUGE — LSU men’s basketball coach John Brady announced on Wednesday that freshman JueMichael Young was suspended from the team after violating team code of conduct standards.

Coach Brady issued the following statemens:

JueMichael Young has been suspended from our basketball team. He will not be involved in any activity as it relates to basketball, but will continue to be monitored in his academic responsibilities. This is a certain standard of conduct on and off the court we expect from out players. When that standard of behavior is not met, there are consequences that follow.”

“We will work through and abide by the University policy as it relates to this matter, and also work with the campus police to follow proper procedure.”

Young, who was not academically qualified for the the 2000-01 season, would be a sophomore in the 2001-02 season.
