Lady Tiger Tennis Travels to Face Tulane

NEW ORLEANS — The 25th-ranked LSU women’s tennis team travels to New Orleans on Wednesday to face in-state rival Tulane in a 3 p.m. match.

The Lady Tigers head into the contest with a 12-6 overall record and have won two straight. The Green Wave is 7-10 on the season, but has taken five of its last six matches.

Junior Bruna Colosio will lead LSU into the contest with a 20-2 overall record this season, including a 14-1 dual match mark. She is ranked 23rd in the nation.

“We’ve played pretty well in our last two matches and a win over Tulane would really give us a big boost,” said LSU head coach Tony Minnis. “Tulane has a very talented team this season, and it is going to be tough task to beat them on their home courts. We just need to go out there and play with some confidence and consistency.”

Tulane will counter with No. 22 Anna Monhartova who has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week already once this season. She is 29-10 on the season.

LSU and Tulane have squared off 27 times since 1977 with the Lady Tigers owning a dominating 25-2 record against the Green Wave. Last season, LSU came away with a 6-3 victory over its in-state rival.
