MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The seventh ranked LSU Tiger softball team will face Coastal Carolina in a midweek double header on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Myrtle Beach.
“We are looking forward to facing a new opponent for LSU,” said head coach Yvette Girouard. “Hopefully, we will continue to play like we did on Sunday. We saw some good things for the weekend and are eager to see the results.”
LSU faces the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina for the first time ever in a midweek meeting over the Tigers Spring Break trip. The Tigers enter the game with a season record of 25-6 following an SEC series win over South Carolina. LSU took two-of-three from the Lady Gamecocks.
The Tigers are led at the plate by senior Stephanie Hastings, hitting .347. Junior pitcher Britni Sneed leads the LSU pitching staff with an ERA of 0.98. The Tiger pitching arsenal has a combined ERA of 1.04.
The Chanticleers enter the match-up with a season record of 8-11 following a loss to North Carolina at the Georgia Tech Buzz tournament.
The Tigers complete their 10-day road trip with three game series versus Georgia on Saturday and Sunday. LSU then returns home for a midweek SEC series against Georgia on Tuesday and Wednesday before facing Alabama on April 7 and 8.
