BATON ROUGE — The man believed to be the oldest living LSU basketball letterman, Glenn Kelly, Sr., passed away on Monday morning in Denham Springs, La.
Kelly, who received his bachelor of science degree in agriculture from LSU in 1934, played for the LSU men’s basketball team from 1931-34. The native of Pride, La., was 88-years-old.
He took part in December 1999 in the LSU Tiger reunion party at Coach John Brady’s house and was introduced to the crowd the next day at an LSU basketball game.
The funeral was held Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, family members have asked that donations may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Pride, La.; First Baptist Church in Denham Springs, La., or to a favorite charity.
