BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s golf team moved up one spot to 14th in the nation in the latest Mastercard rankings released Wednesday.

The Tigers debuted in the first edition of the 2001 Mastercard rankings at No. 16 March 7th. The Tigers last participated in tournament play March 6, when they captured the title at the inagural LSU Spring Invitational at the University Club. The Tigers will next take part in the 2001 Schenkel/E-Z-Go Invitational this weekend in Statesboro, Ga.

The Schenkel will be the most competitive tournament the Tigers have participated in all season. The Georgia Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 in the country, won the event last season with Bubba Watson claiming medalist honors for Georgia.

The tournament will consist of a practice round Friday, 36 holes Saturday and the final 18 holes Sunday at Forest Heights Country Club.
