ATLANTA — Marie Ferdinand earned yet another accolade on Wednesday as the senior from Miami, Fla., was named first-team All-SEC by the Associated Press, it was announced Wednesday.
This honor comes one week after being a unanimous first-team All-SEC selection by the conference coaches and one day after being tabbed as a second-team All-American by the Women?s Basketball Journal.
It is the second consecutive year that Ferdinand has earned the award from the AP. She is joined on the first team by Player of the Year choice Kelly Miller of Georgia, Brandi McCain of Florida, LaToya Thomas of Mississippi State and Chantelle Anderson of Vanderbilt.
Florida coach Carol Ross earned Coach of the Year honors after guiding her Lady Gators to a second-place finish in the conference. Christi Thomas of Georgia was named Freshman of the Year.
