ATLANTA — LSU’s Marie Ferdinand is one of 17 NCAA Division I players who have been selected to participate in the fourth-annual Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s All-Star Challenge.
Ferdinand, who has been named unananimous All-SEC and a second-team All-American this season, becomes the first Lady Tiger to ever receive an invitation to play in the game.
The players represent the top 17 Division I players across the country.
Additionally, the top senior vote getter for WBCA Player of the Year (yet to be determined) from NCAA Division II, III and NAIA will also participate in the exhibition game, which is slated for 3 p.m. CT on March 31 at the WU Field House on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.
The WBCA All-Star Challenge is part of the activities surrounding the WBCA National Convention, held annually in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Women’s Final Four. This year’s national semifinals will be held in St. Louis, Mo., March 28-April 1.
The team is selected by a vote by all NCAA Division I coaches who are members of the WBCA. Here’s a look at the roster:
