BATON ROUGE, La.– After a third-place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate this past weekend, the LSU men’s golf team moved up from No. 25 to No. 19 in the GOLFWEEK rankings on Monday.
The Tigers entered the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship last week ranked 25th, and moved up this week after a 3rd place finish there. The tournament was held in Jacksonville, Fla., and included 15 teams. Senior Alan Morgan and junior transfer Nathan Goulding are ranked 25th and 30th individually in the nation by GOLFWEEK this week after both finished in the top 20 at the Mercedes Championship.
The Tigers will next play March 5-6 in Baton Rouge as they host the first annual LSU Spring Invitational at the University Club. The toournament will feature 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 to follow Tuesday. The tournament will include five Louisiana schools, as well as LSU.
