BATON ROUGE — The LSU soccer team added Louisiana soccer standout Stacie McDougall to their roster for the 2001 season.
“I am always excited to sign girls from Louisiana,” said head coach George ? Fotopoulos. “I think it is important to recruit the top players in this state and keep them here. Stacie is one of Louisiana’s best, and she will be a big help to the Tigers.”
McDougall played soccer for Mandeville High School where she earned three letters as a center midfielder. She helped lead her team to three district championships and two state finals, being honored as an All-District selection in 1999 and 2000. She was also named to the UNO All-Tournament team in 1999.
An honor student, McDougall also played club soccer for the Jackson Futbol Club coached by Joel Carver. She was a member of the Louisiana Olympic Development Program for four years and the Mississippi Olympic Development Program for one year.
“Overall, I am happy with the quality of athletes that have signed with LSU. I think that all the young ladies will help take the Tigers to the next step on their journey to becoming a national program,” added Fotopoulos.
