Ewing Named Associate Athletic Director

BATON ROUGE — Mark Ewing, a 16-year employee in LSU’s Office of Budget and Planning, has been named Associate Athletic Director for Business within the LSU Athletic Department, interim Athletic Director Jerry Baudin announced on Tuesday.

Ewing, who currently serves as LSU’s Budget Director in the Office of Budget and Planning, replaces Ken Lavespere who retired from the University last week.

“I’m excited about moving over to athletic department,” Ewing said. “I was ready for a change and I’m looking forward to working with the coaches and staff within the athletic department. This is a tremendous opportunity for me and I’m excited about the new challenge.”

As Associate Athletic Director for Business, Ewing will assume responsibility for the current business structure as well as that of the ticket office, human resources and purchasing.

“Mark comes to us with 16 years of experience in LSU’s Office of Budget and Planning so he obviously has total knowledge of preparing and administering budgets,” Baudin said. “He also brings significant experience in working with all business related phases of the University. I know he’ll do a great job for the Athletic Department.”

Ewing, who is a native of New Roads, received a Bachelor’s degree in finance from LSU in 1978 and he followed that with a Master’s degree in public administration from LSU in 1995.

Ewing and his wife, Gail, have three children, Andrea (14), Arleen (12) and Molly Sue (8).
