BATON ROUGE — The LSU track and field team will have its hands full on Saturday, as they open the season at the SEC Quadrangular at the Carl Maddox Field House, welcoming Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State.
The men’s competition figures to be a preview of three of the premier teams in the nation according to the latest Trackwire Top 25 rankings. Alabama enters the meet ranked fourth in the nation while the Tigers sit one spot back in the fifth spot, while Auburn ranks 11th.
In the women’s competition, the Lady Tigers will be the top team on hand, as they hold the 19th spot while Auburn enters ranked 23rd.
Field Events get underway at the SEC Quadrangular at 11 a.m. with the weight throw, while track events get underway at 2 p.m.
