ATLANTA — LSU head coach Nick Saban and Georgia Tech head coach addressed the media for the final time before the 2000 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Thursday afternoon at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
For the first time in pre-bowl activities, Saban and O’Leary met together in a joint press conference with members of Atlanta, Baton Rouge and national media.
Saban and O’Leary spoke about the bowl’s impact on each’s team as well as the status of each coach’s program. Being that Georgia Tech is located in Atlanta, Saban is considering this as a road game rather than a bowl at a neutral site.
LSU has played in two prior Peach Bowls, a 31-27 win over Florida State in 1968’s inaugural event and a 10-7 victory over Clemson in 1996.
The Peach Bowl will be televised nationally by ESPN at 4 p.m. CST (5 p.m. EST) on Friday. The audio broadcast may be heard on LSUsports.net beginning 1 1/2 hours before game time.
