ATLANTA — The LSU football team practiced in “shells” for a little more than two hours on Wednesday afternoon in the Georgia Dome. The Tigers have a walk-through on Thursday before Friday’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl matchup with Georgia Tech.
“I’ve been very pleased with the disposition that we’ve had thus far in practice and off the field,” LSU head coach Nick Saban said. “We’re banged up a little, but we should be ready to compete on Friday. We’re getting used to playing on the turf, but I didn’t like the fact that we have to practice on it every day since coming back. We’ve had a couple of non-contact injuries that we usually don’t get when practicing on grass.”
The Tigers concentrated on team drills and its gameplan against Georgia Tech, with the final 20 minutes devoted to special teams play.
After returning from practice, the players were free until the Delta Air Lines Players Awards Banquet at the Marriott Marquis.
Coach Saban heads across the street to Atlanta’s Downtown Hyett for his radio show beginning at 7 p.m. EST (6 p.m. CST) on Wednesday.
