BATON ROUGE — In just its fourth day of ticket sales for the 2000 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, the LSU Ticket Office reached the 18,000 ticket mark on Friday afternoon, according to Ticket Office Manager Brian Broussard.
With 18,017 tickets sold thus far, less than 3,000 of the original 21,000 allotted to LSU by the Peach Bowl remain.
Tickets purchased this week by season ticket holders will be mailed out on Monday, while students who did not receive their tickets will also received them via mail.
The LSU football team (7-4) takes on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (9-2) in Atlanta’s Peach Bowl on Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in the Georgia Dome.
The Tigers begin practice for the bowl on Thursday with a pair of sessions. LSU will practice seven times in Baton Rouge leading up to its Dec. 24 departure for Atlanta via charter air plane from Baton Rouge.
Once in Atlanta, LSU will practice four more times on Dec. 25-28 before facing the Yellow Jackets.
