BATON ROUGE — LSU is ranked No. 10 in this week’s Associated Press women’s basketball poll, marking the third straight week the Lady Tigers have appeared in the Top 10.
LSU, 2-1, fell one spot from last week’s No. 9 ranking despite a 92-52 win over Sam Houston State on Saturday. The victory was the Lady Tigers’ 48th consecutive non-conference home win. Guards Marie Ferdinand and Kisha James each scored 24 points for LSU, while forward Roneeka Hodges posted her first double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers return to action Friday against No. 17 Southwest Missouri State in the Paradise Jam Classic in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. CST.
LSU will play Saturday in the second round of the event against either No. 9 Penn State or No. 13 Texas Tech at 4 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. CST.
