Saban, Tiger Continue To Prep For Alabama

BATON ROUGE — The LSU football team continued its preparations for Alabama on Wednesday with a two-and-a-half hour practice at the LSU practice facility.

The Tigers are ahead of schedule in their preparation for the Crimson Tide following the open date on the schedule last week. Due to last week’s open date, the Tigers began their preparations for Alabama on Saturday.

“It has been a long time since we have played a game and I think the players are a little bit anxious,” said LSU coach Nick Saban. “We got a lot of good work in (today), but we are one day early in everything we are doing so, maybe we can take advantage of that and get some guys healed up for the game.”

LSU will be facing an Alabama team led by coach Mike DuBose, who resigned (effective at the end of the season) on Wednesday.

“I know nothing about (the situation at Alabama). I can only control what we can control which is our team and our mind set here,” Saban said. “Whatever (Alabama’s) mind set is going to be, I have no idea. But we have to be concerned about what are players are thinking and be ready to play the game.”

LSU is looking to win its third consecutive Southeastern Conference game within the same season for the first time since 1988. The game will be televised nationally by CBS at 2:30 p.m.
