BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams look to remain undefeated Saturday as they face the University of Louisiana at Monroe on the road in the Lake C. Oxford Natatorium.
The Lady Tigers head into their second dual-meet of the season with a 2-0 record, while the LSU men’s team currently has a 1-0 mark going into Saturday’s meet versus ULM.
The Lady Tigers picked up two wins last Friday in a double-dual meet against both Houston and Wright State. The LSU women’s team defeated Houston, 139-96, and outscored Wright State, 133-94. The Tiger men’s team was also victorious over Wright State to earn a victory in its lone competition of the young dual-meet season.
Louisiana at Monroe enters its second-home meet of the season with a bit of momentum as both teams rolled over Ouchita Baptist University on Monday night in Monroe. The ULM men’s team was victorious, 156-89, while the Lady Indians topped OBU, 144-89.
In the LSU Natatorium last season, both the Tigers and Lady Tigers won handily over the Indians. The LSU men were victorious, 138-91, while the Lady Tigers took a 73-34 decision.
The Fighting Tigers lead the all-time series versus Louisiana at Monroe, 18-1, and have won the previous 15 matchups with the Indians. The Lady Tigers possess a 12-meet winning streak over ULM and a 13-1 all-time advantage.
In 1983, Louisiana at Monroe swept the Tigers in Baton Rouge to pick up its only two wins versus LSU. The Lady Indians won 74-31, while the men picked up a 77-29 victory.
