Tigers Return To Practice After Three-Day Hiatus

BATON ROUGE — After having the last three days off, the LSU football team returned the practice field on Wednesday as the Tigers worked out for just under three hours as they enjoy their first open date week of the season.

“I think we had a good practice, a practice I like to have,” said LSU coach Nick Saban. “Players go out and think it is going to be easy but the coaches get on them and make it hard and they respond and have fun. That is what I like and that is what we had.”

The Tigers spent much of the time improving individually due to the open date LSU has this Saturday.

“Our big emphasis for today and tomorrow is to get better and improve fundamentally as a team,” said Saban. “There are certainly some areas on our team that we need to improve on. That is what our focus and concentration was on today.

“These are the kind of practices that can help us get better for what we need to do down the stretch. Later on in the week we will get ready for (Alabama).”

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, November 4 when they play host to Alabama at 2:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium. The contest, which is the home-finale for the Tigers, will be televised nationally by CBS.
