BATON ROUGE — The LSU football team practiced for over two hours Wednesday afternoon as the Tigers continued their preparations for Saturday’s contest against 13th-ranked Mississippi State.
“The players seem to be bouncing back pretty well this week,” head coach Nick Saban said.? “We had a couple of good practices, but Mississippi State is going to be a very physical team.? Hopefully our guys are going to be ready for the type of physical battle that we are going to have.”
Saban addressed the quarterback situation after Wednesday’s practice.
“We are not going to start Rohan in a game if he is not 100 percent,” Saban said.? “And I don’t know if he is 100 percent right now, so until he gets that way, and he may get that way by the game, he won’t start.? He did better today than yesterday, and I think he is making progress, but I also think this is the type of game that you would want the guy to be healthy in before he went into the game.? I know he’ll be able to play in this game, I just don’t know how much we will use him or in what situation we will want to use him in.? I think a lot of that will be based on how healthy he is when we get to the game.”
The Tigers face Mississippi State at 8 p.m. on Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
The game will be televised live by ESPN2. LSU ticket manager Brian Broussard said that 1,300 tickets remained for the game.
