LSU Takes On Auburn in Soccer

BATON ROUGE — Following a 2-1 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday ? evening, the LSU soccer team will face the Auburn Tigers in a 1 p.m. match Sunday at the LSU Soccer Complex.

“We have to step up and play better than we did Friday night,” said head coach George Fotopoulos.? “This is a big game for us in division play.? I hope we can come out and be competitive to start the game and set the pace.”

LSU enters the match with a 10-4 overall record and 3-3 in the Southeastern Conference.? Auburn is 10-5 overall and 1-4 in the SEC following a 3-2 loss to Arkansas on Friday night.? LSU’s Ashley Minick and Rachel Cohen each had a goal against Alabama on Friday night. ? Mitnick is second on the team statistically with seven goals and seven assists totaling 21 points.? Cohen is third with six goals and four assist for 16 points. ?

The Tigers travel to Thibodaux on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. match against Nicholls State before heading out of town for the last two SEC games against Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
