BATON ROUGE — Standing at second in the Southeastern Conference Western Division, the LSU soccer team host the Crimson Tide of Alabama on Friday at the LSU Soccer Complex for a 7 p.m. match.
“I hope we can be competitive this weekend,” said head coach George Fotopoulos. ? “I just want the girls to come out and play their best and hopefully we can get a win this weekend.”
The Tigers are 10-4 overall this season and 2-3 in SEC play.? The Tide come in with a 5-9 season record and 1-3 in the SEC.
The Tigers have yet to win a match in their five meetings with the Crimson Tide.? LSU looks to turn things around with a win on Friday night.
LSU lost its last two games at home this past weekend.? First the Tigers dropped a close game 3-2 to the Georgia Bulldogs and then lost 4-2 to Tennessee on Sunday.
Sophomore Kara Dean scored her 12th goal of the season against Tennessee to tie her with Jackie Cooper for second most goals scored in a season.

The Crimson Tide split in SEC play this past weekend, defeating Ole Miss 1-0 in overtime on Friday nighy and losing to Mississippi State 2-0 on Sunday.
Following the Alabama game, the Tigers take on Auburn at home on Sunday at 2 p.m. The match will be a “Purple Event” which means fans can pick up free admission coupons at any Baton Rouge area Winn-Dixie.? Also the Tiger team and coaches will be signing team posters after the match.
