BATON ROUGE — LSU track and field coach Pat Henry, who has guided his men’s and women’s team to a combined 20 NCAA titles, will be featured along with several other highly successful coaches on the award-winning ESPN program Outside the Lines at 6 p.m. CDT on Tuesday.
ESPN spent the day with Henry on Sept. 26 to tape the segment.
Henry will be featured as part of Tuesday’s “Outside the Lines: The Coaching Life.” The show includes a coaches’ round-table discussion moderated by ESPN anchor Bob Ley with Connecticut men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun, Mike Jarvis of St. John’s basketball and Bill Curry, a former Alabama and Kentucky football coach.
Other highlights:
- The story of Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo and San Francisco 49ers coach Steve Mariucci, who grew up in the same small northern Michigan town and rely on each other to maintain perspective.
- A profile of Dallas Cowboys’ coach Dave Campo, whose career began at a
Connecticut high school and had many twists and turns before he surfaced at the top of America’s Team. - A feature that examines the sacrifice required of coaches with respect to their families.
