Tigers Open Practice Before Traveling to Florida

BATON ROUGE — The LSU football team practiced for two hours this afternoon in preparation for this weekend’s SEC match-up against the Florida Gators. The Tigers worked-out in shells at the LSU Practice Facility today for the first time since upsetting the Tennessee Volunteers last Saturday night.

The Tigers opened today’s practice with an offensive, defensive and special teams walk-through before breaking into individual work. LSU then utilized its scout teams in a full squad “corrections” workout. The last half of this afternoon’s practice was split between seven-on-seven drills and full teamwork in preparation for this Saturday’s game against the Gators.

“The key for our team this week is going to be our ability to refocus and get back on track in terms of what we need to accomplish in this game,” LSU head coach Nick Saban said. “We’re playing on the road which takes special preparations and special poise.

“Our ability to deal with the success that we’ve had is going to be the key to our preparation that we have, and the preparation is the key to the way that we are able to execute in the game. That is what we are going to focus on this week.”

The Tigers are next scheduled to practice Tuesday afternoon. Kick-off for this weekend’s game is set for 11:30 a.m. CT and will be televised by Jefferson-Pilot Sports. This marks the third televised game this year for the Tigers and the 14th on JP Sports all-time.
