BATON ROUGE — The LSU volleyball team will look to snap a two match losing streak on Sunday at 2 p.m. when it faces Stephen F. Austin at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Tigers have dropped its last two matches in close fashion to Texas Tech, a 1999 NCAA Tournament participant, and South Carolina, who is a preseason pick to finish second in the Southeastern Conference. Stephen F. Austin comes in as the defending Southland Conference champion.
“This is a match were we can rebound and gain some confidence heading into next weekend,” said LSU coach Fran Flory. “We have played well at times in the past couple of matches, but we haven’t been as consistent as we need to be to win.”
Leading the Tigers into the match will be middle blocker Meagan Davis and outside hitter Jennifer Hampton, who each recorded double-digit kills in the loss to the Gamecocks on Friday. Davis is leading the team in kills, attack percentage and blocks while Hampton leads LSU in digs.
