ULSTER, Ireland — Meredith Duncan, the LSU women’s golf All-American, survived a grey, overcast day on the golf links of Ireland to move to second place after 36 holes of the World Student Golf Championships here Wednesday.
Duncan, the Shreveport native, put together a 1-over par round of 73 to stand at 7-over par 151 halfway through the 72-hole event. She is one of five golfers representing the United States in the competition and the only American in the top five.
Laura Moffat of Great Britain followed her 2-under round on Tuesday with a 1-under 71 on Wednesday to stand 10 shots ahead of Duncan in the lead at 3-under par 141. A Spanish golfer and one from Chinese Taipei are tied for second with Duncan.
The tournament runs through Friday.
