HARWICH, Mass. — Two of LSU Baseball’s National Champions, Ryan Theriot and Mike Fontenot, were selected to represent the Western Division of the Cape Cod Baseball League in Saturday afternoon’s All-Star Game to be held at the Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Harwich, Mass.
The pair of Tigers are playing shortstop and second base, respectively, for the Wareham Gatemen (21-11) in Wareham, Mass, this summer.
Theriot has a .338 batting average (23-of-68) in 21 games with the Gatemen. He has one double and eight RBI while stealing 10-of-12 bases and walking 14 times.
In 23 games this season, Fontenot is batting .286 (24-of-84) with 16 runs scored, two triples, nine RBI and 15-of-19 stolen bases.
Fontenot wears jersey No. 4 while Theriot dons No. 2. The All-Star Game begins at 3 p.m. CDT.
