BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s tennis team has signed two players for the 2001 season, Bryan Fisher and Sebastian Rutka, the tennis office announced Saturday.
“We are very excited to have Brian and Sebastian,” said LSU coach Jeff Brown. “They are both players with a lot of talent that will be able to contribute to our program.”
Fisher comes to LSU from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tenn., where he has been a regional champion in both singles and doubles. He is also a top 10 doubles player in the country in junior tennis.
Rutka, a native of Krakow, Poland, comes to LSU as the No. 3 ranked singles player and No. 2 ranked doubles player in Poland.
He will bring international experience to the program as he has been a Davis Cup practice partner in the past few years.
