BATON ROUGE — In his second week back after missing six weeks with a wrist injury, LSU centerfielder Cedrick Harris was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for his performance in LSU’s weekend series with Florida, the league office announced Tuesday.

Harris hit .500 (8-for-16) in four games last week with six runs, one double, one RBI, two walks and three stolen bases. Against Florida, Harris also batted .500 (6-for-12) with five runs, one double, one RBI and two stolen bases, as the Tigers took two of three games in Gainesville to remain in first place in the SEC Western Division.

Harris recorded a .571 on-base percentage last week. Since his return to the Tiger lineup, he has hit .545 with 12 runs, two doubles, two RBI, six walks and three steals.

LSU leads Auburn by 1 1/2 games going into this weekend’s play.
