BATON ROUGE — Jamilah Johns and Kaisha Lymon, a pair of backup post players on this year’s LSU women’s basketball team, have decided to transfer from the school, head coach Sue Gunter announced on Thursday.
John, a 6-foot-4 sophomore center from Starkville, Miss., played in 26 games with no starts. She averaged 1.1 points and 2.0 rebounds a contest.
Lymon, a 6-2 freshman center from Donaldsonville, La., saw action in 21 games and averaged 1.0 point and 2.0 rebounds. Both players have been granted their release, according to Gunter.
This year, the Lady Tigers had one of the best seasons in school history as they reached the Elite Eight at the NCAA Tournament and finished ranked No. 8 in the nation. The Lady Tigers were 25-7 overall, which included winning a school-record 11 Southeastern Conference contests.
