BATON ROUGE- New LSU soccer coach George Fotopoulos continued his massive overhaul of the program he inherited in December, receiving a letter of intent from highly sought after Jenny Weber of Lexington, Ky., bringing his total number of signees to 12.
Weber, a standout midfielder for Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, is the daughter of University of Kentucky track and field head coach Don Weber.
At Paul Laurence Dunbar, Weber twice helped her team to the city title, while also guiding them to District, Regional and Sectional titles in 1997.
“Jenny brings something that this program has lacked in recent years and that’s tremendous athleticism,” said Fotopoulos. “She is a tremendous athlete who comes from a strong background and will be a fantastic addition to our program.”
Weber has a wealth of experience on the club level and will spend this spring playing for the Louisville Javanon. In 1998 and 1999 she helped Lexington F.C. Premier to runner-up finishes on the Kentucky state club level.
