Men's Golf Travels to Gator Invitational

Men’s Golf Finishes 7th at Alabama Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. –The LSU men’s golf team shot final round team score of 299 to slip one spot to finish seventh at the Alabama Spring Invitational.

Auburn University took home the team overall title with a 14-under par 850 team score. They were followed by Middle Tennessee State, finishing a distant second at 2-under par 862. LSU ended the tournament at eight over-par 872, 22 shots off the pace.

Individually, Auburn’s Roland Thatcher took home medalist honors with an 11-under par 205, 54 hole total. He was followed by LSU senior Jeremy Wilkinson (70-68-71–209), who ended the tournament tied for second with Jon Bartlett of Ole Miss and Matt McWilliams of Middle Tennessee at 7-under par.

Other Tigers competing included Billy Dressler, who finished in 47th position (78-73-73–224) at eight over-par, and Mike Vallillo, who came in tied for 67th position overall after a weekend score of 230 (71-78-81) at 14 strokes over par.

Also competing for the Tigers were Alan Morgan and Craig Taylor.

The LSU men’s golf team next sees action April 7-9 at the Billy Hitchcock Invitational, hosted by Auburn.
