AUBURN, Ala. — The LSU swimming and diving teams will be competing here in Auburn, Ala., for the second straight week.
Last week LSU’s men and women both finished in fifth place in the SEC Championships which were held here at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center. On Friday, February 25 the LSU swimmers and divers will begin competing in the SEC Quadrangular meet.
“This weekend is not as important as last weekend was, but it is still very important for our team,” said LSU head coach Rick Meador. “Many of our swimmers and divers still have a lot to prove, and this is a big competition for them to do it in.”
The SEC Quadrangular meet consists of the best swimmers and divers from the Southeastern Conference, as well as many of the best teams in the nation.
Five SEC men’s teams are among the Top 25 in the nation, including Auburn which is No. 3. There are six SEC women’s teams ranked in the Top 25. Georgia is the No. 1 ranked women’s team in the nation. The Tigers are No. 19 and the Lady Tigers are No. 24.
The SEC Quadrangular meet will begin Friday and conclude Saturday evening.
