BATON ROUGE — The LSU men’s basketball team was the big mover in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll as the Tigers jumped nine spots after defeating Top 15 teams Auburn and Kentucky. Yesterday, the Tigers moved up two spots to No. 23 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll which was voted on before LSU beat Kentucky.
The Tigers have won three games in the month of February for the first since 1992-93 when LSU went 5-3 in the shortest month.
Sue Gunter‘s Lady Tigers fell two spots in this week’s poll after a loss on the road against Alabama and a home win over Arkansas.
Both the Tigers and the Lady Tigers are 19-4 overall. John Brady‘s team is 6-4 in Southeastern Conference play while the Lady Tigers are 8-2.
The men’s team next plays at Ole Miss Wednesday night at 7 p.m., while the women’s team takes on Vanderbilt Thursday night in the Maravich Assembly Center at 7 p.m.
Live Streaming Video using EATELCAST will be available for LSU Thursday night matchup against Vanderbilt.
Coach Gunter will be talking about her Top 10 team tonight in TIGER FOCUS at 7:15 p.m. for members of the eTigers’ Den. However, anyone may submit questions now from the LSUsports.net homepage.
